In 1967, in LaGrange, Georgia, Ralph "Frog" Howard, Sr. and his son, Ralph Howard, Jr., set out to revolutionize the floor mat industry. Together, they developed the first washable rubber-backed mats engineered to withstand commercial laundering—a breakthrough that would become the foundation of what is now Kleen-Tex Industries, a global leader in floor mat manufacturing with operations in eight countries.
As the company expanded, so did its vision. The same commercial-grade performance trusted by businesses around the world was thoughtfully adapted for everyday living, giving rise to the Wash+Dry brand. Their goal was simple: bring industrial-quality durability into homes without sacrificing beauty or comfort.

As Kleen-Tex US renewed its focus on its commercial matting business, an opportunity emerged to ensure the Wash+Dry brand would continue to thrive in the US market.
Having worked with the brand for years and believing deeply in its quality and potential, Christina Ferguson, founded Peabody Home & Living to carry that legacy forward. Today, Peabody Home & Living serves as the exclusive US distributor of Wash+Dry, while every Wash+Dry rug continues to be manufactured by Kleen-Tex using the same trusted materials, craftsmanship, and manufacturing expertise that have defined the brand for generations.
